Something that every business needs to come to terms with at some point is just how centrally important the workplace is. One of the most essential qualities of all is that there is a sense of safety and security. As long as your people feel safe and secure, they can get on with their work in a much better way, with better results. First of all, you should try to ensure that you are keeping in line with any restrictions or guidelines which there might be according to your industry and the type of workplace involved. Although these things only tend to have relatively minor psychological effects, those minor effects soon add up to make a considerable difference to how people feel as they sit down to work. As far as possible, try to ensure that the light levels in the workplace are a good medium, meaning neither too bright nor too dim, and that there is no harsh lighting anywhere. Those complaints won’t necessarily be about the layout as such, but rather the knock-on effects of a poor layout.
