The Coming Divide

divide

The world we live in today is very fragmented and divided. We are divided in our ideology, in our educational attainment, in our societies but probably most importantly in our wealth. Money, wealth, finances and social class are very discussed words in the world topics of today. These words point to the growing issue we all nearly face, not only as a nation but on a global scale. To say it plain and simple, “the rich continue to get richer while the poor get poorer.” Read the rest of this entry

Is Pursuing Entrepreneurship Worth the Time & Effort?

Creating something out of nothing can be extremely difficult and frustrating, especially when you are giving it your all. You are aiming high for results but constantly come up short when your anticipated expectations are not met. The frequent lows of failing setbacks can become a dragging a weight that leaves you feeling exhausted and defeated. Once the feeling of defeat sets in you lose purpose and when you lose purpose you allow setbacks to control your mindset. When a mind is corrupted by defeated thoughts it loses the ability to process positive vibes which in turn voids the ability to produce positive activity. That is what makes entrepreneurship such a difficult venture; it pushes you to the limit physically, emotionally and mentally. So why even pursue such a challenging journey in the first place? Unemployment, Low-Wages & Entrepreneurship

CNN Money recently had an article posted on its website called “The low-wage jobs explosion.” The article basically explained how the resurgence in the job market has largely been fueled by low-wage jobs. These are the type of jobs that can barely, if at all cover the basic necessities for one to live comfortably. Matter of fact let’s take out the word comfortably and just say to maintain a reasonable standard of living. This means a continual erosion of the middle class is occurring in our American society. As the middle class is progressively shifted downwards, government assistance is elevated in order for people to acquire the basic goods and services no longer afforded to them. And this is just low-wage jobs we are talking about so take into account the impact that unemployment is having on our overall economy. Read the rest of this entry

Does July 4th Still Represent America’s Independence?

It is July 4th; fireworks are being exploded, barbeques are being cooked and people are enjoying the holiday as a whole. Today is supposed to represent a day of independence but does the concept of the day still apply in our present state of affairs? America is in a dismal state and most people who live within its boundaries reflect this sentiment. The independence we are celebrating seems to be a farce since our future independence as a leading nation is in danger. Read the rest of this entry

Can Entrepreneurs Create Enough Jobs?

As many of you may know, we will be voting in November to elect a new president or voting to have our current one stick around for four more years. Now I do not want to make this a political post but have pointed out this fact because two issues will be of critical importance during their campaigning process: the economy and job creation. These are two issues that everyone wants answered but contrarily produces answers that everyone does not agree with. Ideas and opinions tend to cause those type of reactions though because everyone does not have the same experiences or views as to how the world should operate. This is where we come to those people who hold certain ideas and viewpoints and see to it that they are put into motion in order to provide a solution. These people can be your political leaders, your corporate leaders, your community leaders or those we call entrepreneurs. For this post we will focus on those called entrepreneurs. Can I Become an Entrepreneur?

In today’s challenging job market and economic climate, being an entrepreneur seems like the most rewarding employment status. What most people  do not realize about entrepreneurship though is that it is not as simple as it seems. Having a business idea, establishing that business idea and reaping the benefits of that business should be pretty simple right? Well not exactly. Countless numbers of people come up with ideas for a promising product or service but do not possess the ability to make those ideas functional. This is one of the most difficult things about entrepreneurship; moving from idea to execution but even with this difficulty people are  still venturing towards entrepreneurship. So the almighty question people are asking is, “Can I become an entrepreneur?” Read the rest of this entry

Being an Entrepreneur and Having a Life

When you think about an entrepreneur, you most likely picture a person who is extremely busy and always on the go. This person barely sleeps, is constantly working and has no time to waste on the small things in life. This image is what most individuals feel they must fulfill and imitate in order to be considered a legitimate entrepreneur. People mistakenly feel they must rid themselves of all things enjoyable and irrelevant to their entrepreneurial pursuits in order to become successful. While it may work in a few cases; working hard without time spared for relaxation and enjoyment can be quite hazardous. Read the rest of this entry

Realizing Your Opportunity

Opportunities are the possibilities that await us if we chose to pursue their potential offerings. We all have opportunity in front of us at a certain point or points in our lives and many of us forgo taking part in its process. It is that ever nagging fear of something new and unknown that holds us back, causing us to be more comfortable with those things we are familiar with. Then as others move forward and progress successfully in their own lives; we are left wondering why we cannot find the same results. Foolishly though, instead of realizing our own shortcomings, we come up with jealous reasons as to why others live the life we want to live. They either cheated, lied, slept with this person, stole from that person; whatever idea we can produce in our mind that lessens the shine of their life compared to your own. Truthfully you are being a hater not realizing you should be upset with your own lack of ambition to grasp the opportunities sitting in front of you. Read the rest of this entry

Making Something Out of Nothing

The world we live in today is not the same as it was in the past. What we exist in today had to be developed over time and had to be done so with innovative, forward thinking. But before all the advancement in technology and intelligence; the world was a place completely void of the luxuries we are fortunately granted today. We as humans had to adapt to the environment around us and upon adaptation had to develop our environment in order to suit our needs. So as we fast forward in time we evolved from communicating through grunts and drawings to communicating through social media. We came from traveling by foot and horseback to traveling by cars and planes. I point out all of this to illustrate the fact that as an entrepreneur you cannot be afraid to take on the challenge of creating something out of nothing. Read the rest of this entry

Are You Focused On Success?

Being focused is the ability to execute a task or goal that has been assigned to your attention. This means blocking out any distractions that will interfere with your ability to stay focused and complete your duties. Unfortunately for many the ability to stay focused is non-existent. We now live in a world were what is “instant” and “new” dominates people’s focus of attention. People have seemed to have lost the ability to focus on long-term initiatives and instead concentrate more thought into short-term initiatives and even do that with a real lack of effort. It is as if we are living in a world full of wandering people who are following the latest, widespread trends rather than trying to combat the many issues we have at hand as a whole that hinders our ability to grow and prosper. That last sentence was a bit of a rant but points to the larger overall effect the loss of focus creates for our society as a whole. Read the rest of this entry
