Only the Strongest Survive

You know the saying, “Only the strongest survive,” well it is absolutely true. This world has always been competitive but present day and moving forward, it is ultra competitive. Just look at the job market. Teenagers are competing with middle-aged, work experienced adults for the same jobs. Look at higher education. Higher education is becoming mandatory for a good life but such results are not guaranteed and the cost are insanely expensive. We all want the best but getting such quality can be very difficult in today’s climate. Not to say it cannot be done, it is just that only the strongest and toughest of the tough grasp such a level. Creating Value For Your Consumers
The marketplace in which many businesses operate within has become fiercely competitive due to the decreased consumption patterns of consumers. As consumers become more hesitant about how their money is spent businesses likewise mimic the same behavioral patterns. The problem with this though is that businesses cannot operate in this manner because it does not resonate well with consumers. As a business you operate in order to make a profit; consumers consume in order to satisfy specific needs and wants. If consumers feel that they are being given low quality products and services they transition their consuming patterns elsewhere. Businesses on the other hand cannot just reposition their consumer base instantly without suffering numerous setbacks which can be very costly. This means that businesses must truly create value for their consumers especially during these challenging times in order to remain competitive amongst the varying options competitors present to consumers. Why a Diverse Income Stream is Needed
If you are dependent on one source of income I highly recommend that you discontinue the habit. In today’s economic environment, the volatile nature of uncertainty leads to the disruption of the normality in which people are accustomed to living within. That means when something is seen as normal it becomes a part of your natural function, leading you to believe its process is unchanging. Since we are talking about income; I will describe how careers and jobs become an illusionary trap in which people become fooled by their outward perception of stability. Read the rest of this entry
Unemployment, Low-Wages & Entrepreneurship
CNN Money recently had an article posted on its website called “The low-wage jobs explosion.” The article basically explained how the resurgence in the job market has largely been fueled by low-wage jobs. These are the type of jobs that can barely, if at all cover the basic necessities for one to live comfortably. Matter of fact let’s take out the word comfortably and just say to maintain a reasonable standard of living. This means a continual erosion of the middle class is occurring in our American society. As the middle class is progressively shifted downwards, government assistance is elevated in order for people to acquire the basic goods and services no longer afforded to them. And this is just low-wage jobs we are talking about so take into account the impact that unemployment is having on our overall economy. Read the rest of this entry
Why a Vision is Needed
Is it possible to travel towards a destination without having knowledge of where you are going? Not really. It would be very difficult to navigate when you are unaware of your surroundings and unsure of how to exactly move forward. If we were to examine the majority of people in the world today we would see that they have no sense of vision; no sure answer to the direction in which their life is headed. These are the people who constantly complain about the status of their life but offer up no solutions of their own in order to change their current predicament. Is the Recession Causing You Depression?
If you have been watching the news lately and listening to different indications on where the economy is, you can most likely come to one conclusion. It sucks! And it is sucking the enjoyment of life right out of many people. The Great Recession happened almost four years ago but what must be remembered is that it was a disaster in the making that developed over a long period of time. The joyous period prior to our current status seems to be over for most and now the realization of “what next” begins to resonate. What usually happens when people have the time to pity in their woes is depression, better known as the inability to move forward. Read the rest of this entry
Competition is Fierce
Lately I have been noticing that some opposing players within what I call the thought leaders of the entrepreneurial community have been stifling others that they view as competitors. I say this because it seems like they do not like others sharing their own knowledge and information to what they view as “their audience”. Instead of letting the audience hear ideas and produce conversation from varying perspectives, they block out anyone promoting theories opposing their own. Maybe they fear those they view as considerable competition, maybe they want the audience to focus only on what they have to offer; whatever the reason it pushes me to want to strategically outwit them at their game of checkers by playing a masterful game of chess. Does July 4th Still Represent America’s Independence?
It is July 4th; fireworks are being exploded, barbeques are being cooked and people are enjoying the holiday as a whole. Today is supposed to represent a day of independence but does the concept of the day still apply in our present state of affairs? America is in a dismal state and most people who live within its boundaries reflect this sentiment. The independence we are celebrating seems to be a farce since our future independence as a leading nation is in danger. Read the rest of this entry
Lessons Learned from Game of Thrones.
If you are one of those people interested in the politics of society, the complexity of human interaction and the curious nature of cut throat/ back stabbing business deals; then Game of Thrones is the right kind of show for you. I first thought Game of Thrones was just about medieval times such as knights and dragons but in actuality it is much more than those concepts. Game of Thrones illustrates the different factions of society and how each faction interacts in contrast from one another in order to survive. The show demonstrates how individual’s idealistic differences can either keep them alive and thriving amongst the chaos and turmoil or help to descend their eventual downfall towards destruction. In the world within Game of Thrones it is wise to know your status and abide by its limitations or disrupt the perceived status quo in order to climb the ladder of society on your own terms.
